(Even if the show forgets about it in Sense and Insensitivity).Īnd Illusion can enhance other types of magic, as we see in The First Day (and possibly in TTLGR, if the Galdorstones really are concentrated illusion magic). ![]() Still the fact that Light and Fire are separate elements makes me think that this separation is important. But illusions also produce sounds (and might trick all other senses as well). And in my opinion, this one comes closest to being elemental, but it’s not as clear as with plants. Contents 1 Background 2 Appearance 3 4 Sightings 5 6 Gallery 7 References Background Like most spells, it is generated through the use of a spell circle. The Titan's light glyph is the first form of magic learned of by Luz Noceda. But construction magic itself seems to be more about shaping, moving and combining existing material. The Light Glyph is a glyph originating from the magic of Titans capable of generating light in various forms. In a similar way, Construction could be related with the fire glyph, because many man-made materials require fire to be produced, e.g. There even seems to be a population of magic-less witches, and a much larger population of coven witches who want to use more than one type of magic. Neither does Abominations.īeast Keeping and Healing could be related to the plant glyph, if you give it the wider meaning of growth, but that is very speculative at this point, as we only saw this glyph produce plants so far. The thing is, glyphs are absolutely all over the place, and they are just way too easy to use. Bard doesn’t have a clear connection to any of the glyphs. Oracle makes use of Crystals, Smoke and maybe Light, but only in combination. Potions would connect to Water and Fire, but Water itself isn’t a glyph. None of the coven have an obvious connection to Ice or Fire as elements. This leaves us with three other glyphs: Light, Ice and Fire. ![]() Under that definition, Plant Magic is elemental, as it directly corresponds to one of the glyphs. (We do hear Eda and Lilith discuss different sorts of magic bile though, so the nine coven system could have a basis in witch biology and might just be more useful when talking about bile sacks.)Īs people already pointed out, between those systems, only the Plant Coven has and obvious connection to one of the glyphs, the Plant Glyph. ![]() Light, Ice, Plants and Fire.īecause the first is enforced by Belos Coven System, there’s the idea that the second (Glyphs) are an older and more elemental system. Glyph Magic, which everyone can do, but only on the Boiling Isles, as it commands ambient magic. Only witches and bipedal demons can do it, and they usually specialize. Circle Magic, which requires a bile sack and which is divided up into nine covens (at least according to Belos). In the Owl House Canon, we’ve mostly dealt with two magic systems: ![]()
